Fleur-de-lis Study Painting

Fleur-di-lis study

Fleur-di-lis study

Normally I do a smaller study prior to large commissions, since I was producing work for the 12×12 show at SKG, I decided to do my study in 12×12. This is currently showing in Portland and for sale for $84.00 (in keeping with the theme of under $100.00 and multiples of 12.)

Here is a Wikipedia information about the FDL.
The fleur-de-lis (or fleur-de-lys; plural: fleurs-de-lis; French pronunciation: [flœʀ də lis]) is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, and lis means lily) or iris that is used as a decorative design or symbol. It may be “at one and the same time, political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic, and symbolic”, especially in heraldry.[1] It is represented in Unicode at U+269C (⚜) on the Miscellaneous Symbols table.

  1. Do you paint fleur de lis paintings of about 32 x 40?

    • Hi Erika, the canvas I purchase is pre-stretched…so it would be 30×40 and the answer is yes. Fleur de lis’s come in all shapes and sizes…but this one would be tall and skinny, where a 30×30 would be a square (more typical.) Email me if you have a picture of one you like and if you are interested we can talk price and shipping if you are outside of New England. Thanks for your note.
